Toronto pianist Glenn Gould to get lifetime achievement Grammy
Legendary Toronto pianist Glenn Gould will be honoured with a posthumous lifetime achievement Grammy Saturday night.
Folksinger Carole King &sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, who died last year are among those who will also be presented with the award.
Gould died in 1982 from a stroke
The pianist's former lawyer & executor of his estate, Stephen Posen will accept the prize on Gould's behalf at the historic Wilshire Ebell Theater.
It's the same venue where Gould played his final public performance in 1964.
Posen says Gould would have been "amused" by the honour but also deeply touched.
The Grammy Awards telecast is Sunday night.
