Pearson Park 'N Fly apologizes for hours-long backlog

Posted By: Siobhan Morris · 2/10/2013 1:18:00 PM

The Park'N Fly service at Pearson Airport is apologizing after some travellers waited as long as 8 hours to get their cars back Sunday.

In a letter to customers, Park 'N Fly CEO Ron Bresler says their service fell short of the company's high standards.

Bresler writes that it a "combination of the snowstorm, flight delays and cancellations created an abnormally high flow of returning customers. This situation resulted in unacceptable wait times.".

26cm of snow fell at Pearson on Friday.

Park 'N Fly has promised refunds & a future free stay for anyone using their service between 10pm Saturday February 9th & 10am Sunday February 10th.

We were one of the many travellers at Park and Wait on Sunday morning. Yes it snowed, it's Canada. By Sunday morning there should have been arrangements in place to take care of the situation. Flight info is given before departure and it is quite simple to check on incoming flights and delays. There was no communication at the airport to let people know that they should just remain there or make other arrangements. There was no food or beverages provided. There is a Timmy's nearby but not even an offer of a ride over. Many people offered to go and help shovel and push snow but due to "liability" the offers were refused. ParknFly totally dropped the ball on this one and management didn't have the decency to show up and difuse the situation it was left to the night clerk. Wouldn't want to spoil his Sunday morning sleep in.
