Freezing rain Sunday night, big warm up Monday

Posted By: Siobhan Morris · 2/10/2013 5:54:00 PM

By Monday night, signs that just a few days ago, Toronto got one of the biggest dumps of snow in years could be just about gone.

Rain forecast for late Sunday night & into Monday morning could wash away the 30cm of snow that fell on Toronto Friday. The mercury is expected to 5 degrees Celsius on Monday.  The normal temperature for this time of year is -1.

There is also a chance for freezing rain Sunday night, but it will be short-lived in Toronto.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for parts of the GTA including Northern Durham Region, Northern York Region & Barrie.

City crews will be watching for flooding overnight.

As of early Sunday night the Toronto & Region Conservation Authority had water levels for water courses listed as normal.
