The Province's Special Investigations Unit is very busy looking into two separate incidents involving Toronto police on Sunday.

Around 7 p.m. police responded to a call at 1 Lee Centre Drive. The apartment building is located near McCowan and the 401.

The SIU says there was an altercation between police and a man on the 8th floor and officers did use gunfire.

The 31 year old was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital after being shot in the chest. A woman was also taken to hospital in serious condition from the same address. She had been stabbed in the neck.

Meantime, one person is in custody after a shooting on the Exhibition grounds around 2:30 Sunday morning. Three young men were shot near Muzik nightclub.

The SIU say police fired gunshots at a car that was speeding away from the area.
