Sex Toys As Weapons?

Posted By: Dave Bradley · 2/13/2013 11:59:00 AM

You don't hear this every day.

A tow truck driver from Toronto wants an OPP officer fired after he claims he was threatened with a sex toy.

Back in March, the Province's Special Investigations Unit suggested there was grounds for Constable Ludgero Cafe to be charged with uttering a threat to cause bodily harm.

The tow truck driver's lawyer says the Crown withdrew criminal charges against the officer.

That can happen if the Crown determines there's no reasonable prospect of conviction.

Video taken inside the police station last March shows Cafe brandishing what appear to be sex toys at the driver, Jagdis Tirbany.

There is an exchange of words, and Tirbany is accused of having a big mouth and complete disregard for the law.

On the video, Cafe is seen briefly with what appears to be a sex toy in either hand, and saying ``which one do you want to use.''

Tirbany said he expects to file a lawsuit against the police.

I dated a police officer last year. It obviously didn't last very long. When she was in training, she even told me she is taught to be condescending towards others. I can understand you have to protect yourself, as you never know what you might face. And the law does need to be respected. HOWEVER, RESPECT IS EARNED AND NOT TAKEN. Just because you have a badge and gun, doesn't warrant respect. If you try to inflict fear into the public by using your badge and gun and call it respect, you are wrong. That's not the way to do it. Be good to people, and people will be good to you. If you talk down to people, DON'T EXPECT AND RESPECT, because that's not how you earn it.

Members of Government, Judiciary, Law Enforcement must abide by a much higher standard to set an example of how society should be.
The Officers have done so much wrong, it's pathetic the Commanding Officer of this Station has not resigned in shame!
There should be a thorough audit of the whole OPP system, recruitment, training, procedures etc.
Unfortunately, the only thing to happen will be a settlement between the Government (who had nothing to do with this), and the victim who will (deservedly) get a huge windfall of cash.
Guess where the money will come from? The toil, blood, tears & sweat of the ordinary tax payer! (While the officer(s) will be rewarded with some desk duties & retire with a prince's ransom of a pension!).
My sympathies to the colleague officers & their union though for the really bad optics their profession gets mirrored in. Maybe they should voluntarily set up some standards.
Do I think the pretty pink toys may also have been "flashed' at some female officer at some time? You bet, and I'm looking forward to some female officers joining the suing fray - easy money picking ladies...!
