Triumph passenger files lawsuit against Carnival Cruise Lines
In what could be the first of many, a lawsuit has been filed against Carival Cruise Lines by one of the passengers who was stranded aboard the Triumph.
Allegations in the suit include breach of maritime contract, fraud, and negligence.
It's not clear how much money the passenger is seeking.
4,000 travellers spent more than 4 days using plastic bags as toilets, sleeping in makeshift tents, and waiting hours for food after the ship lost power in the Gulf of Mexico.
An engine fire crippled the Triumph, disabling systems that provided electricity and running water.
Carnival’s peace offering to each passenger is a full refund and $500.
