Mayor and premier agree to disagree on road tolls

Posted By: Justine Lewkowicz · 2/16/2013 5:40:00 AM

The mayor says he and premier Kathleen Wynne have agreed to disagree on transit funding.

Rob Ford told reporters yesterday that he made it clear to the premier over the phone last week that he is opposed to new taxes or road tolls.

Easing gridlock is one of Wynne's priorities as premier, and she hasn't ruled out those kinds of revenue tools for transit.

Ford and Wynne haven't yet met in person since she became premier.

@russ tucker Well, to be honest, transit, healthcare, roads, police, doctors etc cost money

How else is the govt going to pay for things for you to use without getting money (I.e. taxes)?
