BMW recalls 570K of their most popular models

Posted By: Newstalk 1010 · 2/16/2013 1:31:00 PM

BMW is recalling almost 570, 000 of their most popular cars.  65, 000 of them were sold in Canada.

The issue is with a battery cable connector that can fail & cause the engine to stall.

The recall affects 3-Series sedans, wagons, convertibles & coupes from the 2007-11 model years. Also included are 1-Series coupes & convertibles from 2008-12, & the Z4 sports car from 2009-11.

BMW says it knows of 1 minor collision in Canada because of the connector problem, but no one was hurt.

Dealers will replace the battery cable connector & secure it for free. Owners will start to get notices in March.
