VIDEO: More Gas Plant Documents Found
After tens of thousands of documents related to the Mississauga and Oakville gas plant cancellations were released last year, more have surfaced.
Newly anointed energy minister Bob Chiarelli stood up before Question Period on Thursday to announce the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) has found more documents in relation to the issue.
The Liberal government had said there were no more documents when they released thousands of files in September, only to find thousands more a month later.
Chiarelli says the documents will be available this afternoon and says he's asked the OPA Board Chair to explain how these additional records were uncovered and why they were overlooked.
The gas plant cancellations have cost taxpayers $230 million.
