Tories Release Gas Plant Witness List
The Progressive Conservatives say they have a game plan for the hearings looking into the Mississauga and Oakville gas plant cancellations and they know exactly who they would like to testify.
The party has released a preliminary witness list which includes 104 names like premier Kathleen Wynne and former Premier Dalton McGuinty.
Up until now, McGuinty was protected as premier and couldn't be forced to appear before the committee but he no longer has that as an MPP.
While Wynne can't forced to testify at the all-party committee because of that reason, she has said she is willing to if called upon.
Former energy ministers Brad Duguid and Chris Bentley are also listed, as well as President and CEO of the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) Colin Anderson, 2011 Liberal Campaign Co-Chair Greg Sorbara and Former McGuinty Chief-of-Staff Chris Morley.
PC MPP Rod Jackson says this is a complex issue and the committee conducting the hearings hopes to speak with as many people as possible.
The hearings looking into the $230 million gas plant cancellations continue next week.
