VIDEO: Ontario NDP Willing to Head to Polls
The province's NDP is willing to topple the minority Liberal government if it doesn't get its way come budget time.
Leader Andrea Horwath says she has spoken to the Premier about what items she wants addressed in this year's budget and if the people of the province don't get the changes they deserve, Ontario will be headed to the polls.
That list includes cutting auto insurance premiums by 15 per cent. Horwath met with the Insurance Bureau of Canada on Friday morning, calling the discussion a productive one.
In Sault Ste. Marie, Kathleen Wynne agrees auto insurance rates need to be worked on, as well as targeting insurance fraud. The Premier says savings insurance companies are seeing because of changes to the system need to be applied to premiums.
However, she says she don't know what kind of savings are to be had.
Wynne notes she's willing to work with opposition parties but if they don't want to any more, she's ready to get a strong Liberal team out there.
