Boy Unhurt After Being Pinned By Truck in Mississauga

Posted By: Newstalk 1010 · 3/1/2013 3:55:00 PM

Peel Police are investigating a boy who was pinned against a fence by a truck that lost control in Mississauga.

It happened on Courtney Park near Spinnaker Circle just before 3 o'clock on Friday afternoon, in the area around St. Marcellinus Secondary School.

That's in the Mavis and 401 area.

Police say the boy is in his mid teens and was transported by air ambulance to a downtown Toronto hospital.

Peel Police later tweeted that the boy suffered no serious injuries.

Why are the commentators on CFRB making such an issue out of the fact that the boy was transported by ORNGE to hospital (I assume sick kids based on his age)?? I realize, because you have said it over and over, that a helicopter response is expensive. Medics on the ground make the decision whether to call in the helicopter, and just so you are aware there are no CAT scans in an ambulance. There are no ultra sound machines in an ambulance. There is no way to know or diagnose most internal injuries while standing on the side of the road. So unless you have a price that exceeds the value of the kid's health perhaps it's a subject that should be dropped.
