A woman in her 40s is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after driving her car into the side of a TTC bus in the west end.

Police say the woman steered around a car pausing for a stop sign at Hillside Ave & Royal York Rd & sped through the intersection.

The bus was stopped, in the process of picking up or dropping off passengers. 1 person of the 7 aboard was reportedly hurt but the injuries were minor.

Police have closed Royal York at Hillside to investigate.
