A section of the concrete barrier between the QEW and North Service Road in Mississauga is missing after a violent crash.

A 4-door Honda Accord smashed through the wall while travelling along North Service Road near Cawthra Road, around 9:30pm Sunday.

The man behind the wheel was taken to hospital.

The vehicle was left a write-off and the concrete wall gave way but the man's injuries are not life-threatening.

It's not clear yet how the driver lost control or whether speed or alcohol are factors.

Peel Regional Police are investigating.
