Oshawa Traffic Stop Nets Guns
Durham Regional Police have charged two men after a traffic stop on Sunday evening.
Cops pulled the vehicle over in Oshawa along King Street West, after they allegedly clocked the driver doing 125 km/h in a posted 50 zone.
An officer conducting radar along King Street West in Oshawa Sunday observed a vehicle street racing and during the traffic stop, seized a loaded handgun.
Further investigation found both the driver and the passenger in possession of an open bottle of alcohol. Officers were also able to find a loaded .32 caliber handgun inside the vehicle.
Both were arrested without incident.
A later search of a home in Whitby, turned up a stolen 12 gauge sawed off shotgun. It'd been reported stolen from as home in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
24 year old Courtney Small from Oshawa and 22 year old Anthony Green from Whitby are facing a list of gun related offences and driving offences.
