If your teenager comes to you and asks to go to driving school, be careful which school you select.

The Toronto Star has done an investigation and so far has unearthed at least 50 so-called driving schools in the GTA that are not licensed by the Ministry of Transportation to teach anyone to drive.

What they found were a number of instructors who actually work for ministry-approved schools but they also set up a school on their own which is not approved and branch out on their own so they can avoid giving the approved school a cut of the action.

Insurance companies say if the student is in a crash while taking lessons from these schools you may not be fully protected.
