The RCMP and other police agencies will provide an update on Tuesday afternoon in connection to an illegal gambling investigation involving Platinum Sportsbook, a Canadian-run offshore sports betting website whose operators police say have ties to organized crime.

Six men were charged in the initial investigation after police raided a party at a banquet hall on Super Bowl Sunday.

More than two thousand people were at the invitation only event at the time of the raid.

Police are expected to announce that more raids were carried out in the GTA on Tuesday morning, including one that resulted in an arrest near York University.

The news conference will be held in Aurora at 2 p.m.
