Olivia Chow is considering a run for mayor

Posted By: Michelle Rosa · 3/7/2013 5:54:00 AM

Is Olivia chow ready to run for mayor, when the opportunity arises? The NDP MP says she is "considering it."

Chow was a guest on George Stroumboulopoulos' show where she was asked about her political aspirations, but at first she delivered her typical answer.

“I love this city. I love to come home to Toronto, but what I'm going to be doing, I don't know yet. I'm listening to people's advice."

As the chat continued, Chow said, "Jack wanted to be a mayor, maybe I want to be a mayor, too, but maybe not. Perhaps I won't be able to do it.”

Finally, Stroumboulopoulos asked if she was open to running and Chow responded, "I am considering it."

do we wait for her to raise taxes and user fees, or just start mailing cheques?

@CoffeeCon LOL.......Awesome, just awesome. I am still laughing Coffee Con! Couldn't have been said any better!

@CoffeeCon, We're supposed to just transfer our whole accounts electronically. Mailing the cheques doesn't go with her green initiatives silly.

@Monica LOL....Good point, should have thought of that. Greener and faster!

olivia chow reminds me of the story a venezuelan told me of hugo chavez expropriating funds from his bank account, as was done with many others.

when she and her leftist buddies expropriate our homes will she pay the land transfer tax?

maybe we can finally elect a mayor in 14 who's willing to work full time at his or her job and actually can read rules. I hope she runs and i also hope she has a sister running for council who just pee's off the right wingers.
we should also to able to save all kinds of taxpayer $$'s on the police budget by the decline in personal 911 calls to the police with Olivia as mayor

@Stug Stug you are such an ass, you"re not funny, and you certainly don't make any valid points. You just come up with stupid, insulting rhetoric all the time. Adam Vaughan, Gord perks, Paula, Pammy, Shelley and Olivia et al, they're about your speed.Obnoxious.

@Stug I'm sure the first thing she'll do is cancel garbage privatisation because her mother didn't get her garbage picked up at PRECISELY 9:00 am

also wonder which social housing bldg she'll get a place in, thereby displacing someone who needs it

If we get lucky she will drop dead from that same thing that killed jack

@Jack loved his hookers The fact that this comment exists and has a thumbs up is disgusting.

Would definitely like to see her run for mayor in 14, against John Tory. I'd break out the popcorn for that.

@Angry Bill John Tory is just another liberal.

@Angry Bill I don't think John Tory will ever be mayor of this city. Though he is an incredibly smart man, and I'm a fan. His platform as the PC leader to support funding for religious schooling pretty much ended his chances of holding public office. Rob Ford is the man for the job.

I'd say he's about the most left-leaning conservative I've ever seen. But if he were a liberal, then who are all these people posting on this forum and others who keep calling John a "three-time loser" and cackle over the fact that the socialist Miller and the liberal Dalton McGuinty beat him?

I mean, if he's a liberal, shouldn't these upstanding liberal folks who are so "eloquently" dumping on John instead be standing behind him?

Now we know why the CBC the union mouthpiece made the movie jack more of a love story so it can give chow more screen time meaniing considering the timing this movie is her kick off her mayoral campaign where is the auditor this movie is way over 1.3 million.
    1. proton posted on 03/07/2013 08:08 PM
@Sam great point. I refuse to waste my time watching that nonsense. do they show him getting caught in a rub and tug as well as getting caught taking away someone's spot in social housing?

wonder if that qualifies as campaigning before the election which is a clear violation of the rules. if ford did that he'd be tarred and feathered but since it's chow she gets all the free passes she wants.

Sure we need another pinko handing out perks to unions.

@Peeves You do realize communists have never allowed unions...I mean you have that basic elementary school knowledge. Right? Please tell me you know that communists hate unions. I will be very sad if you do not understand that.

If she wins and appoints slitherman, mcginty, and vaughn to her inner circle wouldn't that be funny. Only stupid people would vote for her. Well back to my metro hall occupation with my fellow teachers.

Seriously the only thing Olivia Chow has done right was to have had
the good fortune to have been married to Jack Layton. She's a
Disaster. Her political career is garbage, cashing in on Jack, her successful achievements wouldnt fill a fortune cookie and hopefully
as soon as her moms garbage gets picked up we won't have to hear from
either of them. And don't get me started on Michael Layton, a loser winning
on name recognition alone is still a loser.
