A Halton police officer suffered injuries after he shot himself by accident.

Cops say the incident happened this afternoon on a firing range.

They say he accidentally discharged his fire arm during a training exercise.

The officer was treated at hospital for a non-life threatening injury and is expected to be released Thursday night.
