WATCH-Thomson to Ford: Let's take a lie detector test!

Sarah Thomson is willing to take a lie detector test to prove Rob Ford grabbed her ass & made a pass at her.

The former mayoral candidate issued the challenge to Toronto's mayor while speaking with Newstalk 1010's John Tory on the Live Drive Friday afternoon.

Both attended a party thrown by the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee at The Arcadian Court Thursday night.

Thomson alleges that at that party, Ford grabbed her ass & suggested she should've come with him to Florida last week because his wife wasn't there.

Thomson says she can't explain why Ford would say that to her, when camera crews captured the entire Ford family at Pearson before jetting off on vacation.

Ford calls the allegations "absolutely, completely false". In a statement the mayor says he's "shocked, dismayed and surprised". He goes on to say: "What is more surprising is that a woman who has aspired to be a civic leader would cry wolf on a day where we should be celebrating women across the globe."

Ford's Chief of Staff Mark Towhey was present when the alleged incident happened & also shot down Thomson's claims.

"I know that the three staff never heard any of the comments that she's alleged. I know that the mayor was in Florida with his wife and children last week and I know was about twenty feet away watching most of this happening during the evening."

Towhey says Thomson looked happy while being photographed & after.

THE SETUP

2 Richmond Hill city councillors have also been poking holes in Thomson's version of events & claim she was trying to trick the mayor.

Councillor Carmine Pirelli told Newstalk 1010's Jerry Agar: "She had mentioned to the group that mayor Ford had grabbed her backside and she said I'm going to go upstairs, I'm going to use my friend here to set him up, to take a picture of him so that I could use it against him in the next campaign."

Thomson tells John Tory in hindsight, she wished she'd confronted the mayor when the alleged assault happened, but she was in shock.

She says as she talked over the incident with fellow party-goers, someone suggested she needed evidence or no one would believe her story. Thomson says her assistant volunteered herself to go back to where Ford was & have her picture taken with him, to see if he would grab her too.

Thomson says they were both concerned that Ford may be assaulting other women at the party & that he needed to be stopped.

Thomson says was inspired to come forward because of a piece she's writing for International Women's Day & has been researching powerful women who've changed the world. She tells Tory "I have to call him on this and get the public to decide, what do we do about this?"

She worries though that she may have "wrecked the purpose" of piping up & all the media attention on her may have discouraged other women from reporting abuse.

WAS THOMSON DRINKING?

Thomson is sticking to her assertion that she only had a beer & cranberry juice to drink at the party.

Richmond Hill councillor Carmine Perelli tells Newstalk 1010's Jim Richards he & Thomson had both been drinking Scotch. Thomson suggests he's got all wrong.

Thomson says Perelli quipped that she should be drinking scotch like him & she joked that she was, as she gripped a glass of bright red juice. Perelli was apparently wearing sunglasses at the time.

ALLEGATIONS OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE?

Speaking with John Tory, Sarah Thomson explained why she backed off a suggestion she made in the morning that Rob Ford may have substance abuse problem and might need help.

Thomson had said the mayor was out of it. She tells Tory though, she has no idea what was "wrong" with the mayor: whether he was drunk, on drugs or having a breakdown. But Thomson maintains the man she saw Thursday night "was not the Rob Ford we all know."

WHAT'S NEXT

The woman who introduces herself future of mayor of Toronto admits her allegations have likely hurt her political future.

Thomson says her friends are already calling to tell her "Hey, your ass is all over Toronto". She tells Tory "I think that is going to stick to me."

    At 15:30 when she tells the part about the police officer; earlier she said that he laughed about it. Now she's making it seem like he had a shocked look and then asked whether she wanted to press charges or not.

    Where the heck is this supposed police officer?

    She's so full of shit. Let's go to the media, not the cops! All of the witnesses calling her out on her lies must be lying and not her, right?

    Well Sarah Thomson got her 15 minutes of "fame"and the media gave it to her on a silver platter.I am a woman and I do not believe her.If she had been "groped"as she believes she was, she should have contacted the police immediately and requested that any "witnesses"to the assault give statements as well.The way this played out and her reluctance to lay charges speaks volumes for her integrity.She even posted her assault story on Facebook instead of going to the police, and she has responded to every media request to "tell her story".Let's get real, she was taking advantage of social media and any media to vilify an opponent who won past Mayoral election .She was basking in the publicity.This is exactly why real victims of sexual assault still suffer in silence, because of the media frenzy which ensues when a person claiming the are a victim, (man or woman) tries to use the media to either gain fame, and/or vilify another person.If she wanted to be an example to women everywhere she should have gone to the police, called her lawyer and let the courts decide the truth, instead of trying to use the media and the "court of public opinion"to decide the validity of her claim.

    I believe the question should be asked " does Sarah have a substance abuse problem?".
    No one in their right mind who is involved in politics should be texting and twittering after a night of drinking.

    Second why did you get your friend to try and entrap the mayor. Instead of a lie detector test I believe a breath-a-lyzer test is required. What is it with these Toronto politicians and their drinking at parties? Do we need to have a wrist band drinking limit policy.

    If you are going to have a lie detector test, please, please put on a show with experts! How about a show like Maury Povich or Jerry Springer. This is where it belongs. Hopefully, we will not hear, "you are the father Rob."

    Victims of sexual assault often suffer in silence, feel isolated and are afraid to report incidents to the police. Going to the media in Toronto and not reporting it to the police and laying an appropriate charge does not set a good example for these victims.

    Sarah comes across in this interview and all the others she did throughout the day as a completely desperate, self serving, publicity seeking LIAR trying to take down the Mayor as so many others have tried before her. Not one word of her ever changing story rings true for me. It is difficult to believe her, but even MORE unbelievable that Mayor Ford would ever pull such a stunt, as the high profile politician, loyal & dedicated husband he is and who was also highly visible at this PUBLIC EVENT. Is anyone really fooled here? If these allegations weren't so serious it would be laughable. WTH is driving this woman... that she has to try to destroy her political opponent's reputation... oh right... eliminating her competition for the Mayoralty race in 2014. Hopefully this will backfire & blow her back into obscurity. She'll be lucky if Rob Ford doesn't SUE her ass for malicious slander & libel & put your out of business for the greater good. Shame on you Sarah. At the end of the day ... your scam is a bust!

    The station is promoting the mayor's show this Sunday big time since this has happened hinting that he'll address this issue.
    My prediction: He'll say he can't address it because it's in the lawyer's hands, then we'll hear the usual stuff we hear on that show. Someone has put up a new fence in his backyard. A councillor phone in to tell us about his ward's new street sweeper. Then the Fords will congratulate themselves and tell us how they're the best ever. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I live in a big city because it's supposed to be an exciting place, not Green Acres

    If she is really telling the truth then file a statement with the police - but I guess she wants to draw the line at slander and not commit an actual criminal offense.

    Why is it that when leftists pitch something it's always something saintly, or for a good cause or an advocacy? When in truth it's really for their own selfish ends. Sarah, that is so typical, sooooo nauseating, I hope little girls will learn to see through this veneer and refuse to drink your kool aide.
