Members of Toronto Police are among hundreds of cops from around the country in Ottawa Saturday for the funeral of a constable killed in the line of duty.

Constable Steve Dery was answering a call at a home in the northern Quebec Inuit community of Kuujjuaq last weekend when he was shot & killed.

Another officer was hurt but survived. Both worked for the Kativik Regional Police Service.

Dery is getting full police honours, including a march down Sussex Drive to a large cathedral.

The man suspected of shooting the officers died of apparent suicide hours after the shooting.

Dery, the son of an RCMP officer, grew up in Ottawa as the middle of 3 brothers. Another brother is a city firefighter.
