Some cat & kitten food is being recalled over concerns they may not have enough of an essential vitamin.
Diamond Pet Foods is voluntarily recalling its Premium Edge adult cat dry food, senior cat hairball management dry food & kitten dry food, as well as its Diamond Naturals kitten dry food.
Tests show the kibble may contain inadequate levels of thiamine or vitamin B1, which cats need to maintain normal nervous system function.
The recalled products come in packages ranging from 170g samples to 8.1kg bags with expiry dates from July 2013 to January 2014.
The company says there haven't been any complaints of health issues related to the products, but warns cats fed the kibble exclusively for weeks may be at risk of thiamine deficiency.
Early signs of the condition include decreased appetite, salivation, vomiting & weight loss. Advanced cases may develop neurological like wobbly walking &seizures.
You can find a complete list of the recalled products here.
