Atwood fights artificial turf at U of T
Noted author Margaret Atwood is not happy with alma mater, the University of Toronto for planning to put down artificial turf on the back campus for the 2015 Pan Am Games.
Atwood sent out a tweet yesterday suggesting she may take the U of T out of her will. It read, "So, @UofTNews: as a soon-to-be dead alum w. $ to leave, am I annoyed by the anti-green plan? Y!”
It is worth noting that synthetic turf is a requirement of the International Field Hockey Federation and the university wants a world class field-hockey pitch for the games.
Work on the synthetic field is scheduled to begin in July.
