Police have now laid charges in a murder that happened inside a long term care facility in Scarborough on Wednesday night.

The 72 year old man who was arrested at Wexford Residence, has now been charged with Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault..

He's Peter Roy Brooks, and was a resident of the home near Pharmacy and Lawrence.

Police were called around 11:15 Wednesday night for what they called an assault in process.

When they arrived they found two victims, both of whom, women.

72 year old Joycelyn Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene while a 91 year old woman was taken to hospital with obvious signs of injuries.

Police haven't yet released a cause of death or a motive, but we do know that all three involved were residents of the home.
