A man in his 20's has been shot dead in the Keele Street and Wilson Avenue area Sunday, evening.

The province's Special Investigations Unit sent out a press release late Sunday night saying that police were called to that area just before 9 p.m. to make an arrest.

"There was an interaction between police and a man, and a short time later, the man sustained a gunshot wound. He was taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre where he was pronounced deceased"

The incident happened behind a Burger King restaurant in a plaza at the intersection of Keele and Wilson Ave.

The SIU has assigned five investigators and two forensic investigators to this case.

The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
