A mix of snow, rain and ice on the way

One last shot of winter is on the way and it could mean a messy afternoon for drivers.

There's a storm system coming up from the American Midwest which will dump snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and rain across the entire southern half of the province from Windsor to Cornwall and as far north as Burke's Falls.

In Toronto we're anticipating light snow starting around 3 p.m. Ice pellets may begin around 9 p.m. and then a rain/snow mix overnight. As for snowfall amounts, we could have anywhere between 2-5 centimetres, but with the rain it may not accumulate.

The snowy, icy, mix will start in southwestern Ontario Monday morning and as it moves in our direction, the storm will mostly become a rain event along the Lake Erie shoreline.

Farther north in the southern Georgian Bay Region, there could be 5 to 10 centimetres of snow. In the northeast of Georgian Bay and in eastern Ontario, some 10 to 20 centimetres are likely by Tuesday evening.
