Toronto Police Issue Warning About Illegal Butt Enhancement Procedures

Posted By: Suzette Francis · 3/18/2013 10:35:00 AM

Toronto police have issued a warning about what they say is a potentially dangerous and prohibited, cosmetic procedure.

Police say illegal buttock-enhancement procedures are being performed in people's homes and hotel rooms.

They say women are paying cash, typically thousands of dollars, to have a substance advertised as a synthetic filler(polymethylmethacrylate) PPM injected into their buttocks.

Investigators say some of the women have experienced serious medical complications and ended up in hospital.

They say this type of procedure can cause long-lasting problems and even death when done outside of a medical facility.

Last year, one woman came forward to police after she had to have surgery to remove lumps of PPM from her buttocks. Police say she couldn't sit or walk at the time.

Why, why, why would anyone want a bigger ar$e is beyond me! It just makes a person look fat and dumpy. Like they do nothing but sit on it all day long. Like they're lazy and slothful. IMO. Never mind paying big bucks to be made to look like a donkey - by some freak - in a hotel, back alley or other unsafe, non-medical environment. Unbelievable.

Well, "Baby Got Back"... 'nuff said. There is an element of society that likes it.. and so that means there are insecure women who will believe they need it.

I see what you did there. "Baby Got Back", a rap song. Had to look it up. "Element of society"... yeah I had a suspicion that's what you meant. Sub-society more like it. (sigh). They are their own worst stereotype.

@ Laura I don't think you can consider women who want their butt enhanced as lazy or slothful, I think as women if I choose to use or enhance myself and have the finances to do so then I should not be judged or need to listen to misogynistic opinions like yours! Personally I have not gotten injections or enhancements to my "derrier" and feel women should investigate and go seek medical professionals who will do these procedures safely. I have though gotten other procedures and I'm quite pleased with the results and in no way am I insecure, or lazy....

This story is correct. I found another article about a butt enhancing operation gone wrong and it inspired me to write this essay: http://wp.me/p2wzRb-54
