A taxi driver was stabbed while being robbed in the Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue area Tuesday night.

Police at 12 Division say it was around 11 p.m. when a woman hailed a cab, but a man jumped in. He then stabbed the male driver in his 50's twice in the torso and robbed him of $100.

Police continue searching for the suspect and will release surveillance images from inside the cab on Wednesday.

The victim's injuries aren't serious and he is expected to recover.
