WATCH: Ontario Questions Skills Traning Plan

The province is concerned society's most vulnerable will suffer with the federal government's new focus on skills training.

Colleges, Training and Universities Minister Brad Duguid is pointing specifically to older workers who have been unemployed for a while, disabled people who aren't working and youth.

The federal budget outlines how money used for current training programs will be shifted to the Canada Jobs Grant.

Duguid calls it a "shell game with federal transfer dollars." Right now, the province gets $194 million for its current training programs.

He's worried if the province has to match the new federal funding, it will have a problem coming up with the money.

Duguid underlines they are open to new programs and matching training programs to the demands of the economy.
