Ainslie wants Ford radio show off the air
Paul Ainslie has ratcheted up his fight with Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.
The Scarborough East councillor has filed a detailed complaint with the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council about the mayor's show, Newstalk 1010's The City.
The council is Canada's broadcast ethics regulator.
Ainslie lists a slew of reasons he believes the show should be off the air. The councillor argues Ford is using public airwaves to actively campaign for political office and use them as a "bully pulpit". He contends this gives Ford unfair advantage over opponents in the upcoming 2014 municipal election.
Newstalk 1010 does not comment on CBSC complaints.
Brand director Mike Bendixen says the station respects guidelines set out by the CBSC and will go through the complaint process as stipulated.
Newstalk 1010's The City with Mayor Rob Ford and councillor Doug Ford airs this Sunday from 1pm-3pm.
