Attorney General criticizes Ford letter
The province's Attorney General doesn't think Rob Ford should have used city hall letterhead for a character reference letter.
John Gerretsen underlines this is his personal comment on Ford's use of city letterhead and it is not the stance of the province.
While Gerretsen says he doesn't want to get involved in any controversy surrounding the Toronto mayor, he says writing a character letter for court should be done on personal stationary not one from your office.
The comments come after it was revealed that Ford wrote character references for two people convicted of crimes, including occasional driver and friend Sandro Lisi.
Gerretsen stresses there is no government policy on the matter.
