My FIRST BLOG...I DIDN'T BLAME THE PARENTS

COULD THIS BE ANY PARENTS FAULT ?

There is a new saying "Don't cry lost in a helium balloon." A six year old boy who was thought to be in a homemade mylar spaceship has been found hiding in the attic because his Dad yelled at him. Meanwhile CNN and other News organizations want to sign him up for four more seasons. Who knows what else this kid can dream UP. Did I say"UP"? Oh yeah kid they already did that movie. Ya got something else? And the hiding in the attic has been done as well. Work on it kid and get back to me.

The balloon flew over the Colorado dessert Thursday afternoon as people around the world waited in anticipation for good news. It was a story that everyone was talking about! Even the people who said that it wasn't news and shouldn't be covered didn't switch the station. While this is good news, it's not the way people wanted to hear it. Falcon Heene is the son of Richard and Mayumi Heene of Ft. Collins, Colo. His parents are storm chasers, and their chaotic parenting style was criticized by their "Wife Swap" family. Richard and Mayumi Heene have two other sons, Bradford and Royo. The boys were called monsters by many viewers.

Kids on leashes and Ritilin make sense now. However, I am shocked by the reaction of some people that its just beyond belief that they could let their 6 year old son out of their sight and into mischief ? That is part of growing up in my opinion. Of course the argument could be made that its more of a dangerous world than when I grew up in the 70s - but I fear what could be lost with children when they are coddled like they are today. Whatever happened to that sense of Huck Finn /TomSawyer adventure growing up?

Online reaction has been swift

*Thanks God he's alive, but he should get an **** whipping that would last a life time tonight

Thank goodness! I hope it turns out to have been a childish prank gone bad (and embarrassing) and not some strange attempt by his parents to attract attention. Shouldn't we find that out for sure before it's labeled a "hoax?"Thank goodness! I hope it turns out to have been a childish prank gone bad (and embarrassing) and not some strange attempt by his parents to attract attention. Shouldn't we find that out for sure before it's labeled a "hoax?"

*Hope they bill the crap out of this to the parents.

*I am sure they will be on the morning shows tomorrow and in People next week. They do not deserve anymore news time

*Gee, really?

The Boy wasn't inside the AIRTIGHT balloon? Anyone with an IQ over room temperature ALREADY KNEW THAT BEFORE IDIOTS IN THE MEDIA "reported" it The fact that it commanded all msn channel attention, along with all blogs, left and right, shows the vapid and idiotic nature of all media. I mean really. Did anyone who posts on big blogs or does cable news bother to actually look at the balloon before screaming about a boy being "inside"??? What about the physical impossibility, anyone?

*I know this will be seen as controversial, but given the their rap video on this site along with what I read about the parents' experience on "Wife Swap", it seems these parents are negligent to me. Given all of the resources that had to be spent in trying to save this little boy who was never in any danger whatsoever, I hope they arrest his parents. Their children deserve better.

Experts claim there is no possible way that a balloon that size could have taken to that height with a boy that size in it. Best case scenario, it would be sweeping tree tops but not 7500 feet above land. One expert said "The balloon clearly didn't have enough lift to carry a 6 yr old aloft. It would have to be the size of a house. Maybe 2 houses.

Slamming the media is convenient given that hind sight is 20/20. All the fears of every parent took the ride with this child. In a story we had never seen before. To be factual, we didn't see it Thursday either.

Falcon said on Wolf Blitzer that he did it for "The Show". The family had been on reality shows before and they tape all their experiments as inventors and storm chasers. So most believe it was a 6 year old who spoke out of turn.. The Father said they don't ground their children. Because they had done reality tv twice, they call news crews before cops, have publicity photos all over the news and will, I am 100% sure, be guests on all the morning tv shows - and that more of us are not crying foul on this whole thing? Could smell like desperate plea for wanting to be a celebrity. Right up there with Octomom. I am sure we have not seen the end of Falcon. I bet we will see him on a version of Celebrity rehab in 15 years. This sounds like these kids are raised by Hollywood parents.

Their parenting has been called into question. The suggestion seems to be that there was a permissive "anything goes" animal house atmosphere in their home. That very well might be the case but before we heard about who these people were, most parents recalled a time that they lost a child for a short time and feared the worst. The police in this case said that it is not unusual for kids to get scared over a parent that might get mad or yell at them and so they hide. That is what happened here. There is no need to fine or charge the parents. His punishment will be the fact he is the balloon boy for the rest of his life. Yes "Balloon Boy" did take us all for a ride in a beautiful balloon. Be glad he is safe, and that he is not YOUR kid.
