Doug Ford commentary
Memo to Doug Ford: Buy a dictionary. Better yet, Google the definition of racist.
Speaking to reporters at city hall yesterday, the Mayor's older and supposedly smarter brother called the "shirtless jogger" who went on a rant against Rob Ford in East York on Canada Day a, quote "left wing lunatic". And then Doug Ford said this guy used "racial slurs" against the Mayor. It was Joe Killoran, who was just on NewsTalk 1010's Moore in the Morning, who had accused Rob Ford of being a liar and a racist and here's Doug Ford calling the teacher a racist against the Mayor. Doug Ford's rationale? Oh you have to hear this from his own lips.
“When you’re going after one person, it doesn’t have to be about religion, doesn’t have to be about race, you can be racist against people that eat little red apples. You can be racist against people that have a drinking problem. You can be racist against people that are too fat.” said Doug Ford.
Councillor you are, once again, completely wrong. You cannot be racist against people who eat little red apples, nor can you be racist against people who have a drinking problem.
By any definition I can find, racism deals strictly with race...the disgusting view that one race is superior to another or all others or the view that one race is inferior to others. That is racism and it has led to hate crimes so vile, it's appalling that you Councillor Ford wouldn't even bother to spend a few minutes to find out what the hell you're talking about before flapping your jaws.
As for the "shirtless jogger"...Joe Killoran was on NewsTalk 1010's Moore in the Morning a few minutes ago talking about is rant on Rob Ford during the East York Canada Day parade. He admitted to being frustrated.
“I think part of this is because the Fords just refuse to engage with anybody, anybody who disagrees with them is a socialist or some paid political operative, people’s frustrations sort of builds. And I guess I had a lot of questions and a lot of things I wanted to address the mayor about.”
For the record, Killoran says the video of his remarks shows clearly he is not yelling racial slurs, not swearing, not yelling homophobic remarks or being violent in anyway....I'm angrily addressing my mayor.
