I'm not a crook.

Okay…so for those of you wondering the answers for yesterday’s blog were:

  1. Palpatine
  2. Iggy
  3. Palpatine
  4. Palpatine
  5. Iggy

I didn’t really think posting this little exercise was going to cause the controversy it did.  As you can read in the comments from the last entry, I was accused of outright plagiarism because of this Video that has apparently been bouncing around the net for a couple of days.

The genesis for what turned out to be my unoriginal idea came while watching the Phantom Menace on the weekend during a reorganization of my clone trooper action figures. Some of the lines being tossed around on both sides of the campaign sounded similar to the politics in the prequels.

I guess there is no way to prove it, but would I really admit to willingly watching Episode I if it weren’t true?

Who said it, Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars or Michael Ignatieff?

We're just a couple of days into the election.  Having fun yet?  If you're not you should try the new game we're launching comparing quotes from the campaign trail and quotes from the Star Wars movies!

Below are 5 quotes either from Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine or Michael Ignatieff/Darth Academia.  See if you can figure out who said what.

Quote #1:

“There is no interest in the common good...no civility, only politics...its disgusting.”

Quote #2:

“…has abused his power. He is out of touch and out of control,”

 Quote #3:

“negotiations are continuing with the separatists.”

Quote #4:

“I will put an end to corruption.”

Quote #5:

“…it's the politics of fear, of division.”

So there you go, who said what?  I'll post the answers first thing Tuesday.

Anyone else hate the time change?

Maybe it's just me, but I was feeling pretty good about the Daylight Saving Time Change until today.  I've been on the verge of falling asleep all day and a few friends seemed to dealing with the sleepy effects of the lost hour too.   I love the extra daylight - but getting there hurts.

Perhaps that's what is happening with the little guy and his four legged friend in the latest video to go viral:

Is It Torture or Training?

I've written before about fish and how they may be a lot smarter than we think they are.  I don't know if they are smart enough to be trained to be synchronized swimmers.  Check out the video below:

How did he do it?  Magnets? Training?  Maybe this guy is actually Aquaman and can talk to fish.  .  Reports say the magician behind the trick is going to perform the trick again soon on another Chinese TV station and explain how he does it.

I'll post a follow up when we know for sure.

Did she just have a stroke?

Posted By: Robert Turner · 2/14/2011 6:41:00 PM

Last night after the Grammy’s, this video started making the rounds on Youtube and Facebook.

It spread quickly across the net as the newest viral video.  Speculation began that she was drunk, on drugs or just a ditz…but as quickly as it this apparent blooper began spreading so did alternate theories about the cause of her apparent loss of speech.

Reputable Newspapers and websites began to report that the woman had been the victim of a stroke on live television and was hospitalized right after the incident.  Well apparently that isn’t true either.  The CBS affiliate where she works put out the following statement early today:

 Update on Serene:

Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is ...
