Jim Richards grew up in both Montreal and Markham, Ontario.  He graduated from radio broadcasting at Loyalist College in Belleville. Jim made several radio stops across the country including Trenton, Fredericton, Halifax and Barrie where he was nominated for medium-market morning show of the year in 1990. From 1992 to 1996, Jim worked at the The Fan 590 in Toronto.  That is where he gave popular CBC TV Host George Stroumboulopoulos his first exposure as an on-air personality. 

In the summer of 1996, he left the Fan to work at Toronto Rock station Q107 and the Rock Radio Network, hosting an overnight rock music program syndicated across Canada. Jim joined NEWSTALK 1010 in 1997 and currently hosts The Jim Richards Show which airs weekdays 1pm to 4pm.  Richards' show falls under many different names like the "Showgram", "The Daytime Friendly", "The Feel-Good Edition" and "The Three Hours of Love."
