Beginning Wednesday, November 18th, Toronto Public Health will offer H1N1 vaccine to the general public.

“Our 10 clinics are fully staffed, and we are now operating seven days a week. Everyone is welcome,” said Dr. David McKeown, Medical Officer of Health.

More than 400,000 doses of vaccine have been distributed to health care providers in Toronto, and approximately 85,000 people have been vaccinated at the Toronto Public Health clinics.

All 10 clinics are open Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  A complete list of clinics is available at  www.toronto.ca/health or by calling 311.

The general public in Halton, Durham and York can roll up their sleeves and start getting the swine flu shot Wednesday as well.
Peel Public Health will open the doors of its H1N1 clinics to everyone starting Thursday.

As for municipalities outside the GTA, Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Doctor Arlene King says its really up to individual public health units to decide when to open their doors to everybody.
