The oldest Canadian Olympian
Curler Carolyn Darbyshire isn't sure she likes the distinction she's earned from her years of experience as she heads to the Vancouver Olympics. But the 46-year-old, who plays second on Cheryl Bernard's team, does see the humour in the fact she will be the oldest Canadian competitor _ and one of the oldest overall _ at these Winter Games.``I chuckled,'' she said following a practice Tuesday at the Calgary Curling Club. ``It's not something I think about. I just go on day by day and I don't think of those things _ just like if I thought of everything I have to do in a day.``I would probably panic. It's a lot of perspective.''It's not that much of a surprise that a curler would hold that status due largely to the fact that athletes can play the game well into their late 40s and be competitive.
