Flashback: Lake Placid owes legacy to Winter Games
The 2010 Winter Olympics will look a lot different from the 1980 Games in Lake Placid, N.Y. Donna Spencer of The Canadian Press takes a look at the venues from 1980, including the former athletes' village that is now a penitentiary.

VANCOUVER _ The 2010 Paralympic Games are officially underway and organizers are hoping the first ever Paralympics in this country will re-inspire Canadians. Fans who gathered to watch the opening ceremonies said they were on par with those of the Olympics.
