For better than a decade, John Critchley sang lead, played guitar, and guided the indie garage rock band 13 Engines through the release of half a dozen records, including A Blur To Me Now and Perpetual Motion Machine. When the Toronto band split up in 1997, Critchley took a bit of time off and then went into the studio with a group of musicians, including ex-13 Engines guitarist Scott Stevenson and drummer Jon McCann, to record Crooked Mile. ~ Tom Demalon, All Music Guide
