A Vaughan teenager is facing charges after he allegedly directed a laser pointer at a York police helicopter.

York investigators say on Friday the helicopter was out helping officers on the ground who were assisting in a break and enter call. The pilot says while looking for suspects, he encountered a bright green light and took action to find its source.

Police say the pilot found the area where the source originated from, (near Pine Valley Drive and Rutherford Road) but was unable to find anyone responsible.

On Sunday a 17-year-old turned himself into police and was arrested.

The boy is scheduled to be in court on February 6th, 2013.
