Toronto City Council has decided to appoint Peter Leon to fill the seat left vacant by Doug Holyday.
Holyday left once he won the Provincial by-election in Etobicoke Lakeshore.
He'd asked his ex-colleagues to appoint retired businessman Leon as his replacement but it wasn't such a sure thing.
Fomer councillor and Progressive Conservative MPP Chris Stockwell was endorsed by the Etobicoke-York community council in a vote last week.
Leon finished with the most votes - 26, while Stockwell came home second with 16.
