The province's Auditor General is testifying all day on Thursday at the government committee looking into the Gas Plant cancellations. Bonnie Lysyk broke down the costs in the morning.
On Tuesday, she revealed tax and ratepayers are on the hook for at least $675 million because of the Oakville cancellation alone. Couple that with Mississauga, you have upwards of a $1.1 billion dollar bill.
Lysyk says $513 million of the cancellation cost at Oakville has to do with the fact that it was relocated to the Napanee area.
She says province has to take in to consideration distribution costs as well as plant upgrades. She underlines
The Auditor says this cost is so high because the plant was moved so far from the GTA - area that needs the extra power.
