Emergency crews in Burlington are cleaning up the mess after a tanker truck carrying thousands of litres of gasoline and diesel crashed on Harvester Road.
The crash happened around 8:30pm on Monday but the clean-up was still underway as Tuesday morning's rush hour traffic started to build.
The stretch of Harvester Road between Appleby Line and Burloak Drive was shut down.
There are reports that fuel had been leaking into nearby Sheldon Creek but its not clear how much went into the water.
The truck driver has only minor injuries after his big rig flipped on its side.
Halton Police are looking into what caused the crash.
Officials with Ontario's Ministry of the Environment are investigating, too.
