A woman, said to be in her 20's, has serious injuries after she was hit by a heavy truck while riding a bicycle.
The collision happened on Spadina Avenue near Dundas Street around 7:15am on Wednesday.
The cyclist was taken to hospital after spending about 20 minutes trapped under a 4-axle flatbed truck loaded with heavy machine, as emergency crews worked to lift the trailer and free her.
Toronto EMS says the woman was awake and breathing when paramedics loaded her into the ambulance and is in serious condition.
Police say the woman was riding in a curb lane that has markings for bike riders and cars.
Toronto Police are investigating.
There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
The woman's name has not been released.
