Toronto City Councillor Josh Matlow got a chance to glimpse into the past on Tuesday.
He requested, and was granted, the opportunity to see the Sam The Record Man sign that is currently owned by Ryerson University.
The one flashy sign is stored in a trailer north of the city.
Matlow posted a number of photos on his Twitter account on Tuesday.
They seem to show the sign in great shape, and ready to be put up again, when Ryerson choses to do so.
This photo clearly shows all the pieces are marked, and ready to be put back together like a big jigsaw puzzle.
The second photo, according to Matlow, show the mercury, used to power the neon lights, that could be potentially dangerous.
Another piece, carefully put away, ready to light up again.
