While Linda Jeffrey says she finds the Rob Ford situation "troubling," the province's Municipal Affairs minister says Queen's Park won't be kicking him out of office.
The province can only remove a mayor from office if he or she is convicted and then jailed because of a criminal offence.
Jeffery adds since this is an ongoing case, she doesn't want to speculate on the outcome. She says she's making sure city business is still getting done.
Premier Kathleen Wynne underlines the rules currently in place will not be changing.
She says she is letting the police do their job on this matter.
Wynne notes the issues Ford is facing is separate that any work-related items that affect municipalities, which she says she's focusing on.
