Fundraising Event to Honour Olivia Wise

Her rendition of Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ has received more than 2.2-million views

Her rendition of Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ has received more than 2.2-million views on YouTube.  On Monday, November 25th, 16-year-old Olivia Wise lost her battle with brain cancer two years after being diagnosed. 

On Monday night a fundraising event is being held in her honour and the hope is that superstar Katy Perry, who is in Toronto, may show up for the event.

‘Zumba for the Cure’ will take place at the Harmony Fitness Downsview location at 75 Carl Hall Road, unit #15 inside the National Squash Academy.

The price to get into the is $30 will all of the money going to the Liv Wise Fund, named after Olivia, as well as Brain the Paediatric Oncology Group Ontario and the Palliative Advanced Care Team. 

The event starts at 7:30p.m. and includes various raffle prizes. 

Olivia Wise’s rendition of ‘Roar’ even got the attention of Katy Perry who sent her a video shortly after.  Perry also paid tribute to Wise via Twitter upon hearing news of her death.
