Environment Canada has issued a ‘special weather statement’ calling for freezing rain overnight in areas from London to Cornwall and up to Algonquin.
According to the statement, “a low pressure system from the Dakotas may reach Iowa by late today then track northeast towards the great lakes. An area of rain with some freezing rain could develop overnight as far south as the London to Niagara area where temperatures will be near zero.”
Freezing rain is expected to spread north and east to the Ottawa Valley by Wednesday morning.
Areas in the GTA will likely see some wet flurries or patchy freezing drizzle but the temperature will rise early tomorrow morning turning most of that precipitation into rain.
