Toronto's Deputy Mayor was in the premier's corner office at Queen's Park for 45 minutes Tuesday afternoon. The Mayor was nowhere to be seen - because he wasn't invited.
And it doesn't look like Kathleen Wynne will be sending him a request anytime soon.
Wynne says she met with Norm Kelly because he's now the representative of city council. The premier wouldn't come out and say she wouldn't meet with Ford but did repeat Kelly is now in a larger decision making role for the city.
The two spoke about things like transit and housing. Kelly says a good relationship between the two is important for economic development.
He says he wanted to let the premier know she has a stable, reliable partner in the city of Toronto.
While Wynne says this was a mutually agreed upon meeting, her office said going into it, she wanted to make sure council was getting city business done.
No date has been set for any future meetings.
