WATCH: Wynne to continue to meet with Kelly

The Premier says he's the official representative of city council, not Rob Ford

Toronto's  Deputy Mayor was in the premier's corner office at Queen's Park for 45 minutes Tuesday afternoon. The Mayor was nowhere to be seen - because he wasn't invited.

And it doesn't look like Kathleen Wynne will be sending him a request anytime soon.

Wynne says she met with Norm Kelly because he's now the representative of city council. The premier wouldn't come out and say she wouldn't meet with Ford but did repeat Kelly is now in a larger decision making role for the city.

The two spoke about things like transit and housing. Kelly says a good relationship between the two is important for economic development.

He says he wanted to let the premier know she has a stable, reliable partner in the city of Toronto.

While Wynne  says this was a mutually agreed upon meeting, her office said going into it, she wanted to make sure council was getting city business done.

No date has been set for any future meetings.

Kathleen Wynne I can give a hoot about- because I really don't expect anything better. But Kelly? That guy is quickly making his way to the naughty list- along with the majority of council.

The Premier and the acting mayor are doing the right thing.
Ford is doing the whiny thing.

You did this to yourself Rob "mayor-in-name-only".
There are no points to score here.

@REALITY BITES F. you. An unelected Premier dealing with someone who wasn't elected Mayor! Gee there's a surprise. Nice to see Ms. Wynne is showing such "class". She is as gutless as she is ignorant. Like it or not Rob Ford was democratically elected to the position of Mayor. And for better or worse not to include him is inappropriate. If Wynne is so concerned about about a functioning government why won't she face the voters in an election?

      Simple: She's a coward.

Ugh! The lead contains an improper placement of pronoun "he". The way you wrote it suggests that the Premier is a male: "The Premier says he's..." So, the Premier is now a "he"? Furthermore, the Premier is now the official rep of CC?

Better and more concise version, indicating who is actually meant by "he" -- "The Premier says Kelly's the official representative of city council, not Rob Ford."

Re Wynne testifying on gas plants, claiming they were avoiding lawsuits, she's either retarded, stupid, thinks we're stupid, or is an outright liar.

Take your pick as the end result is the same. We already know McGuinty "stole" over $ 1 Billion of taxpayer dollars to protect Liberal seats and Wynne is just maintaining the BS that they expect us to believe.

Re her ads showing her running, it looks like she's running away from sensible Ontario citizens. What's she running from?

The more I hear these lies the more despicable I find the Liberals. Too bad I'm in the minority.

@Frankie Everyone knows that lawsuits end legal relationships and the province wanted the same company to build the plants elsewhere, which it wanted to do. Paying even a dime in this situation is ridiculous. Covering some company expenses and time is all that is needed.

See what happens when you fail to act, Premier Wynne you cause confusion! If you had any leadership, you would have updated the laws to be like every other business place in Ontario to remove someone temporarily or permanently from office when they have an addiction issue.

But I lament, you have to attend to your scandals and incompetent Liberal govt.
