Municipal Affairs Minister finds latest Ford allegations 'deeply troubling'

Province still not stepping in.

Even though the province has been weighing in on the mayor Rob Ford scandal as the situation unfolds, it's still not stepping in.

Municipal Affairs Minister Linda Jeffrey released a statement on Wednesday afternoon, calling latest information"deeply troubling."

Jeffrey continued to say that she's watching the situation closely. She says the province has a responsibility to listen to city council. There has been no official plea for help.

"Toronto City Council needs to function and we are watching developments closely, that’s the responsible thing to do," Jeffrey wrote.

She goes on to say she has confidence in Toronto Police and their ongoing investigation.
